Pinning Ceremony
The Pinning ceremony is a formal event marking the completion of the GateWay Community College Nursing Program. Students in the final semester of the program plan and coordinate the ceremony with the assistance of the nursing faculty. This is a special time to celebrate with faculty, family, friends, and fellow students.
The Pinning ceremony traditionally occurs during the final week of the Fall and Spring semesters. The students are recognized for their accomplishments, receive the nursing pin, participate in a candle lighting ceremony, and recite the Nightingale Pledge. The ceremony ends with a reception.
