Students completing the first year, Block 1 and Block 2, of the Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program are eligible for the Certificate of Completion for the Practical Nursing Program. Following completion of the practical nurse level program of study, the student is eligible to apply for licensure as a practical nurse. Licensed Practical Nurses (L.P.N.) are employed in acute, long-term, and community-based health care agencies under the direction of a registered nurse.
